Mission Math Traveling Project

$15.00Price

Help students strengthen math skills through a meaningful real-life experience: planning a trip.

Mission Math transforms traditional math practice into a hands-on learning adventure where students apply mathematics to situations people actually face when traveling. Instead of completing isolated worksheet problems, students use math to make decisions, compare options, and create travel plans that reflect real-world thinking.

This project is designed for Grades 3 through 12 and grows with students by adding new expectations and financial planning components at each level.

Students practice real-world math skills such as:

✔ calculating travel distance

✔ estimating gas costs

✔ comparing transportation options

✔ budgeting for meals and lodging

✔ planning activities within a spending limit

✔ adjusting decisions when over budget

✔ understanding airline fees and luggage costs

✔ researching passport requirements (upper grades)

✔ evaluating credit card payment choices (high school level)

✔ exploring careers connected to travel planning
