The Great Grocery Store Challenge 3rd -8th
The Great Grocery Challenge is an engaging real-world math and life skills curriculum designed for students in grades 3rd–8th. This hands-on project teaches students how to budget, compare prices, calculate BOGO sales, analyze healthy versus junk food choices, and create smart grocery shopping plans using real-life math applications.
Students strengthen skills in multiplication, decimals, fractions, measurement, estimation, financial literacy, research, writing, and critical thinking while participating in meaningful activities connected to everyday life. The curriculum also includes grocery budgeting, healthy food comparisons, fresh versus frozen food research, cooking activities, recipe measurement practice, and evidence-based writing assignments.
Designed to align with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards, The Great Grocery Challenge combines math, reading, science, financial literacy, and executive functioning skills into one interactive learning experience that helps students understand how classroom learning applies to the real world.
